After a trip to Missouri in 1859 by horseback, Jeremiah Jackson Chambers was accidentally killed by his brother, Francis Marion "F.M." Chambers with a knife. Jeremiah Chambers and Fielding Pennington were in a fight and F.M. struck at Fielding with the knife, stabbing Jeremiah, instead.
