Mary MOORE [Parents] "Mollie" was born about 1761 in Virginia. She died in 1842 in Henderson County, North Carolina. She married Abraham Allaway STRANGE on 18 Apr 1778 in Fluvanna County, Virginia.

Mollie and husband Abraham moved to Burke County, North Carolina, in 1779.

On 15 November 1779, two surveys were made for Abraham Strange for land on the Johns River in the Globe area. Each survey was for 250 acres above the land of Jesse Moore and Edward Lee.

This family, it seems, went back to Virginia on 4 April 1782. They sold the land in Burke County to Lewis Ford. On 23 May 1782 in Amherst County, Virginia, they purchased 260 acres on Hickory Creek from Archelaus Alloway Strange.

They then moved back to Burke County and in 1789, he sold 250 acres of land on the Johns River to James Coffey, Jr., a son-in-law of Jesse Moore. They then moved across the river to Wilkes County, where they may be found in the 1790 census. In 1797, they purchased the 250 acres from James Coffey, Jr., which was on the Yadkin River in Wilkes County. The family lived there until Abraham died in 1814. Mollie thn went to live with her daugher, Elizabeth Johnson, and died there in 1842.
